Seuss Drives His Wheels Off at Monadnock
Andy Has a Tough Night, But Still Entertains The Fans
In Seuss’ heat race, the #70 Rockingham Boat/Manchester Urology Modified got caught in a wreck. Rather than pit and give up track position, Seuss stayed out with a mangled racecar and with only three of his four tires pointed in the right direction, he held on to finish the short race. When he crossed the line trailing smoke, the crowd went wild.
“The night was very rough for us. It was a struggle to get into the heat race. After a very rough race we finished with a left front flat and broken spindle. “Luckily we held on to finish sixth. The car was good all day long. We tried some wild stuff in practice that did not really work out so we put in what we knew worked. The car was right back where it should have been. It was just a rough night. I held on for the last few laps with a broken front and flat. We came in the last transfer spot.”
Then in the feature, Seuss got knocked out early. His team refused to quit though, they spent over 50 laps getting his car repaired and Seuss went back on the track to the delight of the fans who remembered him from the heat race.
“We had a very good car in the feature. The right rear went flat instantly. We must have ran something over. I thought that I had it saved but then I was in the wall. The crew did a great job and brought me back out there to make some points. Make up as many spots as we could. It was good effort by every one on the team, we just do not have the results to show for it.”
Andy Seuss barely captured a transfer spot in his heat race and finished 21st in the 100 lap feature for Saturday’s True Value Modified Racing Series event at Monadnock Speedway (NH), but even still he was one of the fan favorites of the evening – bringing the crowd to their feet and cheering him on after some of the spectacular situations that he found himself in during the evening.
The next race for Seuss will be Saturday’s True Value Modified Racing Series event at Canaan Fair Speedway (NH).
”We are very excited to go to Canaan next. We had a very rough race there last time. We were very fast there and pasted a whole bunch of cars there at the beginning of the race all on the outside. I am very excited to go there and hopefully our luck will turn around.”
