Andy Seuss Starts His Workday With News of a Mod Victory
19-year-old Earns Monadnock Checkers After Extended Technical Inspections
Andy Seuss’ co-workers at Rockingham Boat might have to carry his weight a little bit on Tuesday.  The 19-year-old Modified racer spends his days their as a marine technician, but today he will probably have a few extra phone calls to answer during the day and he’s going to be more excited than usual.  But it’s all for a good reason and actually, they should probably get together and take their young co-worker to lunch.
Just before his shift started on Tuesday morning, Seuss found out that he is the most recent winner of a True Value Modified Racing Series event.  Jim Boniface crossed the finish line first Saturday night at Monadnock, but after further inspection of the cylinder heads on his engine, he was disqualified and Seuss took the victory.

“I was walking into work today and before I punched the time clock, I looked at the computer to see if there was any good news,” said Seuss. “I saw on the True Value Modified Racing Series website that I was named the winner at Monadnock.  Even though we didn’t get to celebrate in victory lane, it’s great to get our first win of the season out of the way.  It’s good for the pressure to be off our back.”

After Saturday nights’ race, the results were highly unofficial after a lengthy inspection of Boniface’s #27 Modified.  Engine parts were taken to an outside shop for a more detailed look.

In the race, Seuss was leading as the lapped clicked down when Boniface passed him and moved out front.

“I buzzed by everyone on the outside and got into the lead early,” said Seuss.  “The #27 came out of nowhere.  He closed on me by four lengths once on the straightaway.  We were killing him in the turns, but they had a ton of motor.  That’s how they got by us.  Unfortunately, they must have had a little too much motor and that stood out to the officials.”

Finally winning a race at Monadnock satisfies one of Seuss’ goals in the True Value Series.

“I’m excited to win at Monadnock Speedway, we go there a lot and have been going there for a while, so it’s nice to have a victory there now after finishing second and third there in the past.”

Seuss and his Rockingham Boat/Manchester Urology Associates team will now head to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (ME) for Saturday’s event.

“We’re really looking forward to going up to Beech Ridge and having a good run,” said Seuss.  “We feel that we can be really good there.
know that it will be tough because there are some good competitors there, but we should be right up there to make it a good race.”

The True Value Modified Racing Series event at Beech Ridge will take place on Saturday, August 5th.
