Seuss finished fifth in the 2006 TVMRS point standings.
“This my third year and by far my best year,” said Seuss at the TVMRS post-season banquet. “It has been up and down and inconsistent but we had better runs and we were consistently up front. If we were not in the top five we were usually wrecked.”
Along with finishing fifth in the series, Seuss also won an award for leading half way during the most 2006 races.
“I sure wish that the races were 50 laps longer. We did not want to burn the tires off that early in the races, but we sure liked the hundred dollar bonuses that they were giving out. That was something that we tried to do. It is just reminds me though how much that we were up front. I did not realize that an award was coming. When you run competition like Dwight Jarvis and Jimmy Kuhn and the rest of them, you do not expect something like that. That was pretty neat. Hats off to my crew. The car was always well prepared. Nothing ever fell off the car and it always handled well.”
With 2006 in the books, what are the #70 Rockingham Boat team’s plans for 2007 racing season?
“Next year we will just try to get all those halfway bonuses to be wins. Next year we are looking just to keep it more consistent. If things went our way we definitely will be higher in the points. We are looking forward to next year.”
In 2006, Andy Seuss captured the modified championship for New Smyrna Speed Week competition. The team did not win a race but they were consistent in racing and managed to stay out of trouble. The team is currently trying to pull together what they need to be able to compete again in Speed Weeks at New Smyrna for 2007.
“We are looking for sponsors to be able to head down to New Smyrna Speedway. We lost the One Stop Toy Shop as a sponsor and they helped us out a ton throughout my whole modified career. We are looking for somebody else to replace them and to help us out for 2007 and beyond.”
