As the True Value Modified Racing Series heads to Lee USA Speedway (NH), Andy Seuss and his #70 One Stop Toy Shop/Rockingham Boat team is set to do action at one of their home tracks. Seuss lives in Hempstead, NH, just down the road from the track and he has been a regular at Lee in both the Late Model and 350 Supermodified classes.
And after Seuss broke through with a strong third in his Modified at Lee in last fall’s Oktoberfest race, he can’t wait to go back there.
“We’re excited,” said Seuss. “It’s like a home track to us. It’s great place to race. It’s one of the nicest tracks where we go and the MacDonald family does a great job with it. I’m excited that a lot of our friends and local sponsors will be there to support us.
“We’ve got a lot of laps there. They’re not all great laps, but we finally broke through and got a good finish with the True Value Modified Racing Series last year when we started 26th and finished third.”
A little bit of quick math on Seuss’ part shows that a similar effort to what he did in the fall could end big this weekend.
“I know that they are only going to start 24 cars this time, so that means if we pass the same number of cars, even if we start last, we’ll win.

“Up until the fall race, we had not had a good run in the Modifieds there. We had not had a fantastic car there either. I’m sure that had a lot to do with me and that I used my equipment up too early. But the last time that we were there, I had the leader in my mirror and was about to go down a lap when I knew to save my stuff and be patient. I turned it on when it was time to go and picked them off one at a time.”
The #70 team has a few ideas on how to make this Sunday’s race even better than their last one at Lee.
“We’ve got some new tricks to try out with the Rockingham Boat/One Stop Toy Shop Modified. Hopefully, those will work out well, we’ll stay out of trouble and we’ll have a good run.”
The True Value Modified Racing Series will compete this Sunday at Lee with practice set to begin at Noon. They will race for 100 green flag laps.
