“I was leading and in the bottom groove when Kirk starting coming down,” said Seuss, who won his heat race and led early at Seekonk. “We always race hard together and usually race each other clean.
"Tonight, we just got together. That ended a legitimate shot to win for us after we had to restart in the back. We made our way back up to sixth, but that incident ended our chances of winning the race.”
Seuss will get another chance at a good finish this weekend as his team tows to Motor Mile Speedway (VA) for Saturday’s NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour event there.
Sixth-place isn’t a bad finish, but it’s not a victory either. After winning last season’s DAV Memorial at Seekonk Speedway (MA), sixth is what Andy Seuss and his #70 Rockingham Boat/Manchester Urology team had to settle for in this year’s race after tangling with Kirk Alexander while battling for the lead early on.
