A Thank You Message From Andy
18-Year-Old Shares a Few Thoughts on His Speedweeks Title
Winning the Florida Speedweeks championship has been the biggest thrill in my racing career so far.  It’s nothing short of a dream come true and what we accomplished at New Smyrna Speedway is still sinking in.
At the end of the week, I might have been the one holding up the trophy, but without the help and support of several people, I know that I would have been at home in New Hampshire watching Daytona on TV instead.  I’d really like to thank those people.

My family has been behind me all of the way and without their support, I wouldn’t be racing.  I appreciate their sacrifices and hard work.  The same goes for my car owner, Jerry Morello.  He’s been coming to New Smyrna for years and winning a championship down there means so much to me.

I’ve got the hardest working crew out there and now they are officially champions.  Everything that we worked for almost went up in smoke on Friday night after a wreck, but my team didn’t give up and we came back to finish fifth.  They are amazing.

I want to thank my sponsors – One Stop Toy Shop, Rockingham Boat, Howard Construction and Summit Signs for their support in just getting to Speedweeks.

It takes horsepower to run well at New Smyrna.  Joey Caraccia and

NuSkool engines built us a nice engine for this season and we ran it down in Florida.  I appreciate the job that those guys did with it every time that I put my foot down.

The lessons that I’ve learned in two seasons in the True Value Modified Racing Series sure came in handy in Florida.  It’s been a great place to race and I thank everyone associated with the series for that.  I was proud to represent the series in Florida and look forward to some great races in 2006.

I also got to race against some great competitors in Florida.  Eric Beers, Ted Christopher, Donny Lia, Rob Summers and the Blewett Brothers are some of the best in the business and to learn from them was priceless.  I especially want to thank Chuck Hossfeld and his team though.  We raced hard and clean for the championship and he showed me what a class act that he is.  I look forward to racing him again many times in the future.

Most of all, we couldn’t do this without the fans and I thank everyone who came out to the track, followed the races online or offered their congratulations when we came home.

I’m looking forward to a fun and safe 2006 season and I’ll see everyone at Monadnock on April 15th.
