Andy Seuss Teams Up With Brian Schofield for TVMRS Season
Youth and Experience Will Be Well Represented on #07 Team
Some of the most successful teams ever in racing have been based on the right combination of youthful enthusiasm behind the steering wheel and enough experience from on top of the pit box to know what a situation calls for.  As 20-year-old Andy Seuss gets ready to kick off a season of racing the #07 Modified owned by Brian Schofield in the True Value Modified Racing Series, it looks like this new combination will have the right mixture of both ingredients.

Seuss already has a winning record in Modified racing.  He’s the 2006 Florida Speedweeks champion, he won the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour race at Nashville earlier this season and he has two career TVMRS victories to his credit.

Schofield, who ran a limited schedule of races in 2006 with Todd Owen driving, has a winning record as a car owner and crew chief that is too long to list in one story.  Seuss is ready to learn from that experience.

“Brian has a ton of experience at a lot of different levels of racing – from racing weekly at Riverside Park to winning the Thompson 300 with Jerry Marquis,” said Seuss.  “We’re going to draw a lot off of him.  Brian’s worked with several different types of chassis and he really likes the Boehler chassis that we’ll be using that year.  So it will be interesting to learn with that car.  It’s a little bit different from the Troyer that we’ve been racing.”

Having a young driver in his car will be a new experience for Schofield, but it is one that he is really looking forward too.
“It’s going to be an exciting year,” said Schofield.  “I’ve watched Andy and he’s got a good head on his shoulders.  It will be a little bit of a challenge [running the full season], but Andy is bringing his father and some good guys on the team with him, so we’ll be all right.”

The driver and car owner aren’t expecting much of a learning curve together.  They will hit the track together for the first time on Saturday night when the TVMRS season starts at Connecticut’s Waterford Speedbowl.

“We’re pretty much all set for this weekend,” said Schofield.  “It’s my hope that we should be good right away.  I think that we will be.”

“Hopefully, we’re going to click together a win a lot of races,” said Seuss.
There’s also something besides winning races that Seuss is looking forward to this season.  The young racer loves to talk about the sport and he knows that his new car owner will have some very interesting tales to tell.

“Jerry Marquis is definitely one of my favorite drivers,” said Seuss.  “To be associated with somebody who has worked with him is pretty neat.  I haven’t heard too many stories from Brian yet, but I hope that I will.  I know that he won at Riverside Park and didn’t do it with a lot of motor.  It was all about getting the chassis set up.  Then, he won the Thompson 300 with Jerry and that came without changing as many tires as everyone else.  I’ve heard a lot about him and I’m really looking forward to hearing all of his racing stories.”

Seuss and the Schofield team will make their debut together in Saturday’s TVMRS race at Waterford Speedbowl (CT).

In 2007, Andy Seuss will split his time between driving the #07 Modified owned by Brian Schofield in the True Value Modified Racing Series and running a limited schedule of NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and Whelen Southern Modified Tour events in his family-owned #70 Modified.
