Andy Goes From Early Lead to Early Exit at Lee
And There's Another Rainout for the Advance Auto Parts Team Down South
No matter how hard Andy Seuss or any of his two race teams worked this weekend, they just couldn't get a break.

Seuss had a busy weekend of racing planned.  He intended to race the #47 Advance Auto Parts Modified for Riggs racing in Saturday's NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour event at Caraway Speedway (NC) and then catch a flight on Sunday morning to New Hampshire where he would race his family's #70 Modified in the True Value Modified Racing Series opener.
The Caraway race got rained out.  Seuss then went to Lee where he won his heat race and led early on before good luck went on a vacation there as well.  Seuss battled overheating problems and a broken bolt in the rear end that led to an early exit from the race and a resulting 18th-place finish.

“The rear end was moving around a little bit and then we had overheating issues.  None of the ingredients that we needed were there today, but one thing that never changes in how hard these guys work.

“After winning the heat race, they found a blown head gasket.  We definitely wouldn't have been out there if they didn't work so hard and I know how lucky I am to have them on my side.  Most other teams would have loaded the car on the trailer and left.  They fixed it and I was able to go out and lead a few laps before we had other trouble.”

And don't even ask Seuss about the rain.  Three of his six trips to race on the WSMT this season have ended with rainouts.

“I'm very tired of the rain.  We've driven down there a few times and not raced.”

The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour if now off until the August 2nd event at Bowman Gray Stadium.  Seuss will fill in his schedule by racing up north before then, maybe even in the TVMRS race at Monadnock Speedway (NH) this Saturday night.

“We'll possibly go to Monadnock.  That depends on whether we can get the repairs to the engine done in time, but maybe our next race will end up being at All-Star Speedway (on May 10th).
