Arriving at Caraway Speedway (NC) to compete in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour, Andy Seuss was prepared to have a prosperous day. Although he had finished 21st in his last race, Seuss had been victorious in his last Southern Mod Tour race at Lanier National Speedway (GA) and was hopeful to produce that same success at Caraway. It was clear Seuss was ready to win when he flaunted his strength and qualified on the pole. After a redraw he started fifth and completed the race with a third-place finish.
“It was pretty good day – we got the pole so that was cool because we hadn’t had one of those this year,” said Seuss. “As far as the race, the car was pretty loose from the start, so it was a little bit of a struggle, but we held on for third. It will only help us because now we will know what we need to do when we go back.”
With the third place adding to an already successful season, Seuss is looking forward to the future and hoping to land himself a victory. He has already placed himself second in the points race this season with a win just around the corner.
“Our third place gives us a little bit more of security in second, but Brunnhoelzl [first in points] did gain on us so we want to get a little bit higher in the points. We really just want to go out there and win races and just let the points take care of themselves. We just have to get a little bit better to do that as well.”
