Seuss Encounters Handling Woes at Stafford & Beech Ridge
#70 Leads Laps in Beech Ridge TVMRS Event
Handling problems were the name of the game for Andy Seuss and his #70 Modified team this past weekend as they raced on Friday night in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Stafford Motor Speedway and Saturday night in the True Value Modified Racing Series event at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (ME).
At Stafford, Seuss started the day high up on the practice speed charts, but qualified for the race in the 24th position.  The handling of the car never got exactly right and Seuss finished 21st.

On the next night, things looked up as Seuss moved from his sixth starting position into the lead in only 13 laps at Beech Ridge.  He led for awhile before once again the handling went away and he was left with a finish of 15th.

“The car was flying early on,” said Seuss. It was very sensitive to the heat cycles of the tires.  We've just got to be doing something wrong with it.

“We're just trying to figure out where we went wrong.  This car just all of a sudden slowed up handling-wise after we were running good.  It's something that we were chasing a little bit, but thought that we had in

the past after finishing fourth at Oxford with it, but that wasn't the case.  It was a similar track top this, but had a different result for us.

“We just have to figure out what we need to do to this car to make it faster.  We just need to get out front with it and stay there.  It was really similar to last night, we'll just have to figure it out and then we'll be all right.”

Seuss now heads to Thompson International Speedway for the Thursday night NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race there on August 13th.
