A scheduling conflict will take Andy Seuss out of the driver's seat when the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, but the #70 Stuart's Automotive/Manchester Urology Associates/Safety Solutions will be able to race on in his absence thanks to some help from an old friend.
NASCAR Camping World East Series driver and TD Banknorth Oxford 250 winner Eddie MacDonald will substitute for Seuss in the #70 Modified in Saturday's race. Seuss and MacDonald are longtime friends who both started their racing careers at Lee USA Speedway (NH). MacDonald has only one career Modified start in his career, but swept both 2008 NASCAR CW East races at New Hampshire.
Seuss runs a limited schedule of Northern Modified races in addition to the full NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour schedule behind the wheel of the #47 Advance Auto Parts Modified fielded by Riggs Racing. When a rained-out WSMT date at Caraway Speedway (NC) was reset for this Saturday, Seuss' family-owned team looked at various options and decided on Tuesday to put MacDonald in the car while Seuss races at Caraway.
Currently, Seuss sits second in the NASCAR WSMT point standings and is hoping to gain ground on point leader George Brunnhoelzl, III in Saturday's race at Caraway.
