Andy Seuss started 12th and finished 12th in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour season opener on the quarter mile at Atlanta Motor Speedway (GA). That didn't mean that he and his team only put forth a 12th-place effort though. Seuss ran as high as fourth in the event, and appeared ready to climb even higher through the field, when the handling went away on his #70 Modified.
“The car was a rocketship at the beginning of the race,” said Seuss. “We got up to fourth and then the car just got too tight. I basically had to stop in the middle of the turns. It was disappointing, but we learned a lot and now we know what to do next time on this type of track.”
Next up for Seuss is Saturday night's WSMT race at Caraway Speedway - a track where he won at last season.
“We're excited about Caraway,” said Seuss. “We're coming back with the same car and the same set-up that we won with, so hopefully it will be a good race for us.”
