Seuss Finishes Fifth in MRS Oktoberfest at Lee USA Speedway
Rain Delay Makes For a Long Day of Racing

An early outset of winter weather during Oktoberfest weekend at Lee USA Speedway (NH) made for a long route to a top five finish for Andy Seuss and the #70 Rockingham Boat / Manchester Urology Associates team this past weekend.

On Saturday at Lee, Seuss finished second in his Modified Racing Series qualifying event, which allowed him to start fifth in Sunday's main event.  From that position, Seuss moved up quickly and was running second when a rain delay halted the race at lap 68.

Due to a combination of rain, mist, cold temperatures and a wet track, it was nearly four hours before the MRS feature could restart.  When it did, the handling characteristics of Seuss' car changed.  He dropped back slightly as a result and finished fifth.

“The car just wasn't the same after the rain delay,” said Seuss.  “I really thought that we would be there to contend for the victory, but that just wasn't to be today.   The car was very good before the delay, but the track changed.  We're very thankful though for the effort that the track and the Modified Racing Series officials made to get the race in completely and even more thankful to the fans for sticking around on a day of poor weather.”

Despite not winning the race, Seuss was still happy to finish fifth in a race that ended the New England Modified season.

“It was good to run up front in front of a hometown crowd of family and friends,” said Seuss.  “It was good to end up with a top five finish and have some momentum heading into the winter.”
