This Memorial Day weekend was a busy one for Andy Seuss and his #70 Stewart's Automotive race team. The team ran two races of the course of three days and enjoyed very different results, and luck, in both events.
Seuss first raced in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event on Friday night at Stafford Motor Speedway (CT) and emerged from the event with his first career top 10 finish at the track.
“Finishing 10th at Stafford was huge to us,” said Seuss. “That track has been a tough one for us to learn. We are finally now starting to get a set-up that works there and we are getting better and better as a team on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. The set-up was good and our pit stop went great. It was a good race and a total team effort.”
Two days later, that team effort looked like it could have had even better results. Seuss entered the Modified Racing Series event at Thunder Road Speedbowl and was very quick early on. He was running second when a handling went away on his #70 Modified. The team then needed to pit to make adjustments and that caused circumstances out of their control that led to an early exit from the race. Seuss was credited with a finish of 19th in the race.
Next up for Seuss will be this weekend's NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race at Martinsville Speedway (VA) on Sunday.
