New Hampshire’s Andy Seuss is Among Some
Fast Company in New Fox Sports Feature
The New Year brought some new and unexpected accolades for New Hampshire racecar driver Andy Seuss.  The standout NASCAR Modified driver was ranked second in a Fox Sports compilation titled “NASCAR Drivers 25 and Under to Watch in 2012.”  Seuss first found out about the honors when he saw that a friend posted a link to the story on their Facebook page.

“I didn’t know anything about this until I saw that I was tagged on Facebook,” said Seuss.  “Then, when I first read it, I didn’t realize it was ranked in order.  I was surprised and very honored to find myself on this list.  To be in the company of NASCAR Champions like Andrew Ranger (ranked #3) and Max Gresham (Ranked #11) is pretty cool.”

Although Seuss is very humble, he has accomplished plenty to be proud of in his young career.  The Hampstead, New Hampshire native has won 11 career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races – placing him into a tie for second on the all time win list of the series despite being only 24 years old.  On two occasions, Seuss has finished second in the point standings of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour.  Seuss has also won multiple events in the New England-based Modified Racing Series, is a former Florida Speedweeks Modified champion and has competed in everything from a Winged Sprint Car to a Small-Block Supermodified.

Only 17 drivers made the list, which included such second-generation drivers as Chase Elliott and Ross Kenseth (sons of NASCAR Cup Series champions Bill Elliott and Matt Kenseth respectively) as well as Ryan Blaney (son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Dave Blaney).

Seuss finished second on the Fox Sports list to NASCAR K&N Pro Series East series standout Darrell Wallace, Jr., a driver who already has a big-time NASCAR opportunity plotted out for him.

“To finish second to Darrell Wallace, Jr. was impressive – especially considering that Joe Gibbs Racing has already signed him to a contract,” said Seuss.  “Maybe that would mean that an opportunity could come my direction next.”

Another solid season on the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour just might give Seuss that opportunity.  Seuss will return to the Ideal Racing team on that Tour for the 2012 racing season and his goal is to win the championship that has so far eluded him.

“If you want to make it big in NASCAR racing, they say that you have to be in North Carolina,” said Seuss of the region where the industry is based.  “We’ve been down there winning races in the backyards of the teams that race in the top levels of NASCAR.  With some more success, maybe some more opportunities will come about.  I’m just looking forward to the 2012 racing season to start so we can get back on track and give them what we’ve got.”
